Two Kudus Found Dead With Horns Interlocked Near Shingwedzi

A rare incident was discovered on the H1-6, 15 kilometres south of Shingwedzi during the late afternoon.

Photographed by Sti

Two kudus were found lying side by side with their horns tightly interlocked. The two males had been in a fierce territorial fight that ended in tragedy for both.

This is a very rare occurrence, but it does indeed happen with kudus due to the shape of their horns. Bateleurs are most often the first birds of prey on carcasses due to how low they fly, so this bateleur must eat quickly before other species arrive and start to take over!
