Hyenas Corner Leopard And Her Tiny Cub

A bold standoff between predator and scavengers

By Ronald Mutero

A leopard mom was cornered by a group of hyenas while trying to protect her cub with the safety of a fallen tree. The clan milled around the base of the tree, grunting and yipping. They were an imposing bunch, more so because they were intent on making a kill. Thanks to their unmatched climbing skills, the female leopard stood her ground until the hyenas finally gave up and moved off.
