Crocodile Sprints After Baby Hippo

A hippo calf made it to the safety of an adult escort just in time as a menacing crocodile attempted to catch it!

Taken at Naledi Game Lodge, the footage is tense, and it helps to emphasise that crocodiles, which often appear ungainly on land compared to predators like lions or hyenas, are deadly when in the water.

Lion Cubs Block Road With Playful Chaos

Traffic came to a standstill recently when a mother decided to take her kids for a walk along the road. But this was no ordinary mom, and neither were her offspring.

Integration of the cubs into the pride starts between 6 to 8 weeks old. However, if other pride females give birth around the same time, this may occur earlier.

At around one year old, cubs will start joining hunts, having practised stalking skills with their siblings and pride mates. At two years, they are competent hunters in their own right.
